Unusual design early 19th century late George 3rd mahogany china cabinet of Gothic design. The cabinet is in one piece with its original low base which is nicely carved and decorated. The cabinet has a curved top with nice shape moulded cornice. The pair of large doors have astragal type mouldings with applied thick veneer type decoration. Original Georgian lock and bolts. Two of the internal shelves are adjustable. The cabinet is good timber with a nice grain pattern. Most of the glass is original but not all of it. The inside has been newly re-done in watered silk as the original was pink and very dirty.
This has always been a stand alone piece and not part of anything else.
Proper china cabinets of this age and earlier are not common and don't come up for sale very often.
